Description | Goodell Renovation, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Campus. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process as set forth in MGL Chapter 149A. UMBA, through its Trade Contractor Prequalification Committee, is prequalifying firms interested in providing public Trade Contractor services on this Public Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) Project for the Goodell Renovation Project through this RFQ process The required Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is different from DCAMM Certification. All Trade Contractors must be prequalified for this project. Based on information provided in the SOQs submission, the Prequalification Committee will prequalify respondents it deems to be qualified in accordance with the criteria set forth in the RFQ. Only prequalified firms will be permitted to submit bids for the category of work in which they were prequalified. The Goodell Renovation includes new building's core spaces and systems, ADA compliance, MEP systems upgrades, replacement of windows and roof in the 1957 portion of the building and targeted wood window and trim repairs in the 1934 portion. It will include infill floors to make useable space of now-vacant book-stack floors, improve accessibility and circulation, upgrade the building systems and envelope to code, add an entrance at the west elevation and a communicating stair and create spaces particularly fit for support functions and departmental needs. Not all portions of the building will be renovated. Goodell is comprised of two parts: an original 3-story building of 34,323 gsf built in 1934 and a 6-story addition of 95,442 gsf completed in 1960. There is a mechanical penthouse above the top floor of the addition which contains recently replaced air handling systems that serve both parts of the building. A new 250T chiller was recently installed with a refurbished cooling tower. The building has a single elevator to be modernized. New MEP systems and equipment and including removal of existing steam radiators and infrastructure to be replaced with low-temperature hot water fan coils and distribution along with replacement of AHU steam coils with hydronic coils in the existing units. Trade Contractor Statement of Qualifications Forms from interested Trade Contractors are sought for the following categories of work through this RFQ: Misc. Metals (ECC $550,000); Waterproofing Dampproofing and Caulking (ECC $40,000): Roofing (ECC $600,000): Metal Windows (ECC $1,600,000): Glass and Glazing (EEC $150,000); Tile (ECC $350,000); Acoustical Tile (ECC $440,000); Resilient Flooring (ECC $460,000); Painting (ECC $500,000); Elevators (ECC $330,000); Fire Protection (ECC $390,000); Plumbing (ECC $1,200,000), Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (ECC $7,500,000); Electrical (ECC $4,000,000) The Statement of Qualifications must conform to requirements set forth in the RFQ. All questions regarding this RFQ should be submitted to Bob Labrecque at STV before 5:00 PM local time on Dec 21, 2022. Questions should be submitted in writing by email only to robert.labrecque@stvinc.com. All responses will be posted on the UMBA by 5 PM local time on January 4, 2022 The Owner's Project Manager is STV, the Construction Manager at Risk is Daniel O'Connell's & Son's, and the Project Designer is Goody Clancy Architects. Prospective respondents shall not communicate with any person or entity participating in the prequalification process at any time during the process except by written questions submitted in accordance with the process outlined in the RFQ.
