Description | Providing professional design services for the project referenced above. The project scope will involve the design, bid, and construction of the DEX: Dakota Events CompleX at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds, Huron, South Dakota Dakota Events CompleX will need to be able to hold multiple events year-round. These events include barrelracing, rodeos, cattle shows, 4-H events, and other show type events. Seating capacity will be 5,000-10,000 for rodeos and other events. The building will be located where the Open Class Beef Barn was and the Open Class Sheep Barn currently is. The building will need to include space for two arenas approximately 150’ x 250’, with additional area adjacent for various cattle chutes and other equipment necessary to hold rodeos. The space will also need to be able to be reconfigured to hold 2,000 or more head of cattle during the fair. During the fair, two arenas, approximately 50’ x 125’, will also be needed. The building will require heat, ventilation, fire sprinkler, and cooling as budget allows. Electrical requirements are LED lighting and dedicated outlets for cow penning. Water for cattle and washout bays will also be required within the facility and adjacent to the facility as needed. Bathroom facilities, concessions, and other amenities needed for the facility including audio/visual enhancements will also be included. Existing electrical switch gear and transformer will be reused but additional power is expected to be needed. Existing overhead lines will need to be relocated |
