Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Replacement

Purchase replacement and install of an automatic transfer switch (or ATS, hereafter referred to as UNIT) and related items, for the electrical service and distribution in Building 500 at our South Cary Water Reclamation Facility. Electrical service and distribution in Building 500 consists of a 480V 1200A service supplied by a Duke Energy 750 kVA pad mounted transformer and onsite backup power provided by a Caterpillar model 3508 STD, 750 kW, standby generator in walk-in enclosure. Service and distribution equipment are Westinghouse CutlerHammer, manufactured in 1988. The existing ATS is Zenith 480V 1600A and has reached the end of its useful life. Building 500 provides power to our Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Treatment process, Headworks process equipment, and Administration Building which houses operations control room and Laboratory all of which are mission critical loads and have very limited outage windows. The selected UNIT shall adhere to all the following minimum specifications as provided by our consultant overseeing the integration of the ATS to our system.
