C1DA--518-20-106 Fire Alarm Device Replacements for Life Safety

Provide all professional architectural and engineering (A/E) services necessary to develop complete construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, project phasing, site visits and construction period administration associated with upgrading the fire alarm system in buildings 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 33, 61, 62, 70, 78A, 80, 81 and 82 in accordance with Chapter 260 VA Design Guide and Space Criteria. All services provided shall be within the constraints of the construction budget consistent with the Veterans Affairs (VA’s) project team goals as prioritized during project meetings and field surveys. Conduct preliminary project scope meetings and site survey investigations to develop the necessary elements for conceptual layout schemes with proposed alternatives consistent with the VA’s project team goals as prioritized during preliminary project meetings, field surveys and studies. Enclosed in the Solicitation is previous (FA Redlines 2) contract as-built record sets showing extent of previous work carried out. This drawing set should not be considered as boilerplate and should be checked by due diligence during the design phase. The intent of this project is to upgrade fire alarm devices and panels and include, but is not limited to: Upgrade all fire alarm signaling devices in all locations. Add additional notification and signaling devices where required by NFPA code or VA Design Guide. Upgrade panels to addressable where required. Upgrade fiber and copper connections for all existing fire alarm systems
