I-15 Springville - Spanish Fork Interchange

UDOT is concluding an Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate a new interchange on I-15 in order to alleviate congestion at the Springville 400 S Interchange on I-15, improve mobility and access to I-15, improve safety and provide active transportation facilities along the 1600 South/2700 North corridor. UDOT anticipates a phased approach to achieving the build out of the preferred alternative. The design/construction phases include: Phase 1: Design/construction of a diamond type interchange using the existing bridge over I-15 including on/off ramps, realignment of the frontage roads, and respective right of way acquisition to achieve these goals, Design/construction of a grade-separated bridge over a dual-track railroad. Phase 2: Design/construction of the remaining elements of the EA preferred alternative including removing and replacing the existing bridge over I-15 with a new bridge to accommodate a SPUI type interchange, adding north and southbound auxiliary lanes on I-15 as identified in the EA, and expanding the 1600 S/2700 N corridor to a five-lane facility.
