Recreation Center - Frederick County

The Recreation Center project would be approximately 44,000 square feet and include an indoor area large enough to accommodate a minimum of two basketball courts. This court area would also be designed for utilization by indoor soccer, baseball, softball, wrestling, volleyball, tennis, and badminton with the installation of in-floor sleeves and drop curtains or partitions. This area could also be used for special events such as dances, proms, music festivals, garden, and home, outdoor, craft, antique, quilt, or boat shows, thus providing a flexible facility for a multitude of activities to take place at one time. The facility would also house a fitness center, multi-purpose rooms, office, storage, and locker rooms. As of June 15, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2021-2026 CIP. Information regarding engineer and architect have not been disclosed.
