Description | MASTER AGREEMENT #U2016102/ENG-WWTPEXP/1718 Wharton-Smith is the Construction Manager at Risk who is soliciting proposals and assuring that MBE and WBE firms are used, when possible, for the City of Punta Gorda Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements 2022. All questions must be submitted electronically to the email below and received by the times and dates below. New Clarifiers and associated RAW/WAS Pump Stations C. Upgraded process air blowers D. Upgraded filter feed pump station E. New electrical building F. New electrical power house 1. Site clearing and earthwork activities including but not limited to dewatering, erosion and sedimentation controls, excavations, trenching, backfilling, soils and aggregate, milling/repaving, asphalt surfaces, sidewalks, etc. 2. Demolition and removal of existing screens in the Headworks influent channel and replacement with new mechanical step screens including all supporting structural, electrical and instrumentation work. 3. Installation of new yard piping and force mains. Work includes exterior painting and interior coating and installation of various fittings, valves, etc. 4. Relocation of existing yard piping and force mains including all appurtenant fittings, valves and miscellaneous work. 5. Installation of new process drain pump station wet well with new submersible pumps and discharge piping, as well as, all associated civil, structural, process mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work. 6. Construction of a new stormwater ponds and associated appurtenant work including but not limited to grading and drainage, conveyance, littoral shelf, pipe culverts, manholes and structures, etc. and all required modifications of the existing stormwater system including but not limited to the existing pond and conveyance system. 7. Geotechnical improvements and foundations for structures, etc. including but not limited to installation and testing of piles and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring. 8. Installation of new bio-reactor tanks including flow splitter box, anoxic and aerobic tankage, pipes/fittings/valves/gates, etc. 9. Installation of new mechanical equipment in the new bio-reactor tanks including but not limited to, submersible axial flow pumps, davit cranes, submersible mixers, flexible membrane disc diffusers, rotary screw blowers, etc. along with handrails/guard rails, grating, ladder access, stairs, etc., as well as all associated structural, electrical and instrumentation requirements. 10. Installation of new wire and strand wrapped prestressed concrete clarifiers. 11. Installation of all associated circular secondary clarifier equipment/mechanism, including drive unit, rake arms, skimmer, baffles, weirs, support column, influent ring, etc. as well as launder covers, periphery walkway, piping/fittings/valves, etc. 12. Clarifiers include influent and effluent piping, RAS/WAS piping, scum piping and drain piping. 13. Installation of end suction pumps including all associated piping/valving, etc. including pump pad, electrical and instrumentation controls, for the RAS/WAS pump station. 14. Installation of double disk pumps including all associated piping/valving, etc. including pump pad, electrical and instrumentation controls, for the scum pump station. 15. Installation of new elevated walkway along with all necessary support structure, handrails, etc. to connect new bioreactors to existing secondary clarifiers as well as new secondary clarifiers (and between the new secondary clarifiers) with stair access. 16. Replacement of existing filter feed pumps in the existing filter feed pump station with new submersible pumps with discharge piping, valves, fittings, header, etc. 17. Replacement of any necessary floats, level sensors, etc, and related electrical, instrumentation work for manual operation of existing valve for filter feed pump station bypass operation. 18. Installation of rotary screw blowers, coarse bubble diffusers, telescoping valves to replace existing equipment in the digesters. The existing equipment must be removed/demolished. 19. Sequenced removal and replacement of existing effluent pumps with new axially split case pumps and all associated piping, fitting, valving, instrumentation control, electrical, etc. 20. Water utility pipes, fire hydrants, disinfection of water pipes, etc. 21. Flow switches, magnetic flow meters, thermal flow meters, ultrasonic level meters, radar level meters, analyzers, transmitters and miscellaneous instruments, etc. 22. Miscellaneous grading, sub-surface preparation, aggregate base courses, asphalt paving pavement marking, turf and grass, etc. 23. New electrical service and electrical building and all associated electrical equipment including but not limited to MCCs, switchgears, VFDs switchboards, panelboards, control panels, transformers, conduit, cables/wires, ductbanks, raceways, grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting/lighting poles, interior and exterior LED lighting, emergency and exit lighting, etc. 24. The new electrical building also includes various civil, process mechanical, architectural, structural, HVAC and instrumentation related requirements. 25. A new electrical power house with similar requirements as the new electrical building. 26. A new standby power generator with a sound attenuated weather protective enclosure and sub-base diesel fuel tank to provide back up power along with associated structural, electrical and mechanical requirements. 27. Relocation of the existing Florida Power & Light (FPL) overhead power lines in the vicinity of the new Secondary Clarifiers, along with extension of the 3-phase service and single-phase service as required. 28. Structural work includes design of the concrete bioreactor on steel piles, the elevated site walkway structure, the electrical building, and the concrete foundations for the Aeration Blower Canopy, RAS/WAS pump station canopy, Existing Secondary Digester Blower canopy, power house and generator. Structural modifications to the slab for the new blowers in the existing Operations Building are also included, in addition to other miscellaneous items. 29. New PLCs in electrical building, electrical power house, and at the headworks. Replacement and migration of existing PLCs to new PLCs. Integration to vendor control panels. Communication and integration to existing SCADA, programming, fire alarm, racks, panels, enclosures, instrumentation, analyzers, etc. 30. Work includes but is not limited to temporary utilities, structures, facilities etc., concrete work - forming, reinforcing, joints, casting, finishing, curing, grouting - precast hollow core, masonry, metal fabrications, rough carpentry, dampproofing, membrane roofing, sealing, doors and frames, overhead doors, floor door, hardware, glazing, high performance concrete lining, coatings, rain gauge, etc. 31. HVAC work includes equipment, motor, duct, insulation, piping vibration control, registers, grilles, split system air conditioners, drywell, standalone controls, high temperature alarms, etc. 32. Leak tests, hydrostatic tests, pressure testing, equipment operational readiness test, functional demonstration test, manufacturers' checks/certifications, start-up, commissioning, training, operational and maintenance guidance, etc. are also included. 33. Upon completion final cleaning is included. In addition, removal of any excess spoil material, proper disposal of all items/equipment, etc. earmarked for demolition and removal is included. Final grading, turf, sod, pavement repair, cleanup and miscellaneous activities related to closeout are included. 34. This summary of work is not a comprehensive description of the requirements of the project and the project includes other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.
