Description | DENNIS WATER DISTRICT DENNIS, MASSACHUSETTS CONTRACT NO. 2022-02 CLEANING AND PAINTING 1.3 MG STEEL WATER STANDPIPE The Work consists of abrasive blast and full re-coating of the exterior and interior of the tank along with welding repairs and incidentals. Existing coating on tank exterior contains lead therefore a full Class 1A containment system is required throughout the work. Additionally, existing cellular antenna will be relocated from the tank to the containment structure during the work. Tank is located at 899 Old Bass River Road, Dennis, MA. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a bid security, addressed to the Dennis Water District, in the form of a certified treasurer's or cashier's check, bid bond, or cash in the amount of five percent of the value of the Bid. Successful bidder must furnish separate 100 percent Construction Performance Bond and 100 percent Construction Payment Bond with a Surety company acceptable to the Owner. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before bid opening, to request, if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this Contract. This Contract is being bid under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all general bids if it is in the public interest to do so. A. All work is to be performed on Owner's property located at 899 Old Bass River Road, Dennis, MA. Refer to the site plan provided in the Attachments. Tank is in close proximity to neighboring properties. Contractor shall be responsible for working within the property limits identified on the site plan. All Work must be contained within the property lines shown on the site plan in Attachment B. B. Exterior Surfaces 1. The Owner is working with the Electric Utility to relocate the existing overhead electric service and the pole on the tank site. The new electric pole will be located on the tank site closer to Old Bass River Road. Electric lines from the new pole to the tank will be installed underground. This work is being done to provide more clear space around the tank for the maintenance work. The intent is to have this work completed prior to the work of this Contract. Refer to Figure 7 in the Attachments for more information. 2. Remove the abandon Nextel cellular equipment and roof shield/shroud and associated brackets/braces. 3. Active cellular equipment and materials are to be removed and reinstalled by the T-Mobile Contractor. This equipment shall temporarily be installed on the Containment staging provided under this Contract. The Owner will coordinate with T-Mobile to arrange for the T-Mobile Contractor to relocate their equipment to the Containment staging and then back onto the tank. The Contractor shall provide 14 days advance notice to the Owner as to when Containment staging will be complete and when the tank is ready for the cellular equipment to be moved back by the T-Mobile Contractor. 4. Remove existing tank level indicator cabinet. 5. Full containment. Provide full Class 1A containment. 6. Abrasive blasting. Abrasive blast to SSPC-SP-6 7. Pit filling. Fill pits as required. 8. Welding repairs: Complete welding repairs as specified. 9. Provide new tank level indicator cabinet. 10. Exterior coating. Paint exterior surfaces as specified. A. Interior Surfaces 1. Drain tank. Work with the Owner to drain the tank to lower 2 feet. 2. Lower 2 feet of water and sediment. Assist the Owner with collection of the lower 2 feet of water and sediment and dispose of off-site. 3. Abrasive blasting. Abrasive blast to SSPC-SP-10 4. Welding repairs: Complete welding repairs as specified. 5. Interior coating. Paint interior surfaces as specified. C. The above general outline of principal features does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish the required materials, equipment, labor and means as shown or required by the Contract Documents. D. Materials, equipment, labor, etc., obviously a part of the work and necessary for the proper operation and installation of same, although not specifically indicated in the Contract Documents, shall be provided as if called for in detail without additional cost to the Owner |
