Description

Engineering firms shall demonstrate ability to provide turnkey design, construction documents, permitting, bidding, and construction administration services as required for each project. Work may include, but shall not be limited to, the following: 1. Planning 2. Surveying 3. Geotechnical 4. Civil Engineering 5. Hydraulic Engineering/CLOMR/LOMR/NO Rise Analysis 6. Stream Restoration, Enhancement and Stabilization BMP/SCMs design 1. Utility Design (water and sewer) 2. Structural Design related to Storm Water Infrastructure 3. Retaining Wall Design 4. Greenway Design 5. Public Outreach/Community workshops 6. Utility coordination (NCDOT, CMU, Parks and Recreation, Towns) 7. Permitting 8. Easement Acquisition 9. Cost Estimating 10. Bidding assistance and Bid Documents 11. Construction administration and Observation 12. As-built documents. In addition, Engineering firms shall demonstrate ability to secure donated property or easements necessary to construct projects. The Engineering firm shall describe their approach and/or experience to securing necessary easements within a fixed time period leading to a decision by the County to proceed into the design phase. Project overview listed below. DANA'S BRANCH STREAM RESTORATION PROJECT: o The project limits are approximately 18,050 linear feet. This includes 9,250 linear feet of minor stream from parcel 00541105 to the northwest with several tributaries to the north and 8800 linear feet of major stream, McDowell Creek, from parcel 00541105 to Sam Furr Road (NC Highway 73). (See map attached for project area.) The stream runs throughout the Westmoreland Lake and Magnolia Estates neighborhoods. 1. The project goals are to solidify stream banks and prevent future erosion while improving water quality to promote aquatic life, both flora and fauna BMP/SCMs design 1. Utility Design (water and sewer) 2. Structural Design related to Storm Water Infrastructure 3. Retaining Wall Design 4. Greenway Design 5. Public Outreach/Community workshops 6.
