West Avenue Sewer Replacement Project

As of April 5, 2023. The project has been awarded with the amount of $131,872.42. The City of Cartersville is bidding out the replacement of an existing sanitary sewer in West Avenue. Asphalt Replacement Contractor to provide, in the bid price, the replacement of the asphalt that is removed for construction. Area is shown on the construction plans. Asphalt is to be replaced from edge of pavement to edge of pavement and from ex manhole 1 to ex manhole 2. Concrete can be poured flush and then milled down for asphalt paving. Asphalt striping will be applied after construction and paving. Striping is to meet the Cartersville Public Works regulations. Match existing striping location and color. Trench backfill is to be GAB and tamped to 95% compaction. Any valve boxes for utilities are to be raised if needed to be flush with the new pavement. Traffic Control will be required. Road closures can only be between the hours of 9:00 am -4:00 pm. Prior to any road closure, contact Wade Wilson, 770-383-1432, with the Cartersville Public Works Department. At the end of each day, trench is to be backfilled and plated/made safe in accordance to the Cartersville Public Works regulations. Existing Sewer will be abandoned in place and plugged on both ends. Existing manholes are to be used. New boots will be required in the manholes. Prior to any construction, contractor must pothole down on all existing utilities to verify depth.
