Description

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, insurance, equipment, materials and power for the complete performance of the following project, Oak Creek and Dupont Estates - Master Meter Installations as follows: Installation of new master meters for two mobile home parks. all in accordance with the Bidding Documents as prepared by the City Utilities Engineering Department, City of Fort Wayne, Indiana. No Bid will be accepted from, or contract awarded to any person, firm, or corporation that is in arrears to the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, upon any debt or contract, or, who has failed to execute, in whole or in part in a satisfactory manner, any contract with the City; or, who is a defaulter as to surety or otherwise, upon any obligation to the City, or is engaged in litigation with the City. The funding source for this project is WATER UTILITY REVENUE.No Bid may be withdrawn for at least 60 days after the scheduled time for receipt of Bids so as to allow review of Bids before announcing award of Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount no less than one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids for failure to comply with applicable laws and/or with the Instructions to Bidders. The Board also reserves the right to waive any defect in any bid. The City of Fort Wayne's goal for utilization of qualified Emerging Business Enterprises (EBE) as subcontractors on City projects is 10% of the Contract Price. It has been determined that the EBE goal for THIS PROJECT is 10% of the Contract Price Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Design Manager in writing Base bid for this project requires the Contractor to: . Remove existing meters for meter pits #1 & #2 as defined in Appendix A. . Install new 6 inch meters with the following requirements: . Piping, fittings, and any necessary restraint will be Contractor furnished and Contractor installed. . 6 inch ultrasonic meters - two total meters will be Owner furnished and Contractor installed. . Contractor shall provide all meter vault piping, fittings, and restraint associated with each meter installation. Concrete shall be reinforced class A concrete. . Shutdown shall be performed during the nighttime beginning at 10 pm and shall not last for more than 6 hours to have the meter installed and returned to service. Contractor to provide lighting and other items necessary for nighttime work. Native soils may be returned to excavation as deemed appropriate by the contractor. Contractor shall be responsible for settling around valve boxes and structures. Contractor shall provide any needed regrading and reseeding due to settlement for up to 1 year after the installation of the meters
