Description | Prequalifying Requirements 1. Licensed, Bonded, and Insured (certificate of Insurance, insurance endorsements) 2. Registered plumber with the State of Illinois 3. Registered contractor and vendor with the City of Evanston 4. Twenty prior successful service line replacements using trenchless technology/methods in Evanston and Chicagoland area. 5. Install water service using trenchless technology/methods. 6. Make necessary excavations to install water service 7. Backfill all excavations to grade after work 8. Remove all spoils from job site 9. Install heavy wall “K” 1 ½” copper water supply piping (Unless instructed otherwise by City of Evanston) 10. Connect new water service line to new curb-stop in parkway 11. Install full port ball valves on both sides of the water meter(New water meter and couplings will be provided by City of Evanston) 12. New water service shall be connected to existing water supply lines in the home. 13. Water service line will be mounted in basement (If necessary) 14. All holes/excavations made in the home shall be sealed watertight. 15. The new water line will be pressure tested assuring a leak tight installation. 16. All fixtures and faucets will be cleared of debris to ensure proper operation. 17. Apply for all necessary permits 18. Arrange and attend meetings with city inspectors. 19. Restore any damage to lawn/landscaping. 20. The installation shall be complete, but does not include interior patching, painting or other cosmetic cover up should it be found necessary. 21. Contractor shall provide a quote to the City to complete each replacement within seven days of survey the property inside and outside (property owner or tenant must sign the City’s Right of Entry and Release form prior to the contractor and City surveying the interior of the property). 22. The replacement must be scheduled and completed within 14 days of submitting their quote to the City if chosen (weather permitting) |
