Description

Project Description: The project generally consists of replacing existing guardrail, barricades and appurtenances with new materials and products which will meet new safety standards, shoulder rehabilitation, minor concrete, and striping and pavement markings. The project will be governed by the Contract Documents included herewith, including the Caltrans State Standard Specifications, 2018 edition, in the order of precedence as set forth herein. Location of Work: Various Locations in the City of Benicia Required Contractor's License(s): A California class A contractor's license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. Liquidated Damages: $3,500 per day. Pre-Bid Site Visit and Meeting: There will be no pre-bid site visit or meeting. The Engineer's Opinion of Probable Costs is approximately $700,000 Completion of Work: All work shall be completed within 70 Working Days from the date when the Contract Time commences to run Owner specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. Owner may reject any and all Bids and waive any minor irregularities in the Bids. Bidders must direct all questions about the meaning or intent of Bidding Documents to Owner in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Owner in response to such questions will be issued by written Addenda mailed, faxed, or delivered to all parties recorded by Owner as having received Bidding Documents.
