| Description | The existing eight (8ft) foot long cantilevered rail beam is undersized and needs reinforcing. At the same time, the cantilevered rail beam is short of the required length that would allow for maneuvering a transport truck under the crane and safely loading or off-loading a pump. The 15foot rail beam extension and associated steel framing will be supported by two steel columns. Each column will bear on a pile supported reinforced concrete pedestal. The steel H piles will be driven to a depth of 50 feet below the existing grade. The supported 15foot rail beam extension will then be butt welded to the existing eight (8ft) foot rail beam thereby eliminating the cantilever and greatly increasing the capacity of the hoist. Other activities associated with this project include extending the hoist track, installing a new electrical junction box, upgrading and extending the hoist electrical cabling and the installation of protecting bollards. |
