Description The contractor shall provide FCI Elkton, with water and wastewater service in a manner and form that is consistent with (1) all applicable laws, rules, industry standards, codes, permits, regulations, and governing ordinances, promulgated by any and all governmental authorities having jurisdiction; as well as, (2) the facility's service requirements. FCI Elkton will be given notice of all upcoming quarterly meetings of the Water or Sewer Authority and given the opportunity to address issues concerning the Authority. WATER REQUIREMENT: The water service estimated peak operating demand typically occurs between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. This estimated FCI Elkton loading data and service demands are based on historical data. The usage amounts shown above are estimates only and do not constitute a Government usage guarantee. For the purpose of calculating the facilities water flow, the contractor may use actual metered flow of water used. The Contractor shall provide these estimated volumes at a delivery of 1,100 gallons/minute at a pressure range no less than 80 psi. Fire flow must be available for a minimum of 90 minutes at 2,500 gpm. Contractor shall monitor water tower levels to ensure no overflow occurs and shall assist FCI Elkton in the proper operation of the altitude valve. Contractor is responsible for monitoring and calibrating the accuracy of the metering equipment. Contractor shall be responsible for fulfilling any and all water testing procedures up to the point of delivery as required by regulatory body having jurisdiction. The contractor shall furnish FCI Elkton with a copy of such test(s). The contractor shall own, operate, and maintain the facilities necessary to include design and construction as technology improves of its existing system to meet the full water service requirements during the term of this contract. Water service provided by the contractor shall meet the Government's everyday needs for the proper operation of its facility without interruption. WASTEWATER REQUIREMENT: The sewer service estimated peak operating demand typically occurs between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The contractor can expect to receive and treat wastewater streams from the FCI that have average strengths of 235mg/L for Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), 301mg/L for Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Oil/Grease 50mg/L. This estimated FCI Elkton loading data and service demands are based on historical data. The usage amounts shown above are estimates only and do not constitute a Government usage guarantee. For the purpose of calculating the facilities sewage flow, the contractor may use actual metered flow of water used. However, during the cooling season between the months of April and September a .05% sewage credit shall be given to FCI Elkton to compensate cooling tower evaporation loses. Contractor is responsible for monitoring and calibrating the accuracy of the metering equipment. Contractor shall be responsible for fulfilling any and all sewer testing procedures up to the point of delivery as required by regulatory body having jurisdiction. The contractor shall furnish FCI Elkton with a copy of such test(s) when requested. The contractor shall own, operate, and maintain the facilities necessary to include design and construction as technology improves of its existing system to meet the full sewer service requirements during the term of this contract.
