Description | As of February 20, 2023. The project has been cancelled and it is anticipated that the project will be re-advertised for bid later this calendar year. The City of Madison is accepting proposals to rehabilitate airport pavements at the Madison Municipal Airport. All work is to be done to the Federal Aviation Administration and Georgia Department of Transportation specifications included in the contract documents. Bid guaranty in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid will be required to accompany bids. Contract Bonding shall also be required. The project shall be bid as a single contract. Bid prices may be held for up to one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days. The disadvantage business enterprise (DBE) goal for this project is 4.57%. The City reserves the right to do all, some, or none of the aforementioned. Contractor will be responsible for all project work as well as all work required to restored disturbed surfaces and areas back to the original conditions prior to final completion and acceptance of the project work. The contractor will also be responsible for security, signage, and traffic control of the work site during the project. The Contractor shall be issued the Construction Notice to Proceed no later than April 1, 2023. The City will pay the contractor for work completed at the stated unit prices as described in the contract bid form. Upon such final acceptance, the City will remit to the contractor all amounts remaining due under the terms of the contract. Ninety (90) calendar days are allotted for the Base Bid. If Bid Additive 1 and/or Bid Additive 2 are awarded, no additional calendar days will be allotted. The City will assess a $1,000.00 per day penalty after the construction duration has expired. The completed bid form and all material included in this Invitation to Bid package shall be made a part of any contract with the successful bidder. All bidders must provide documentation demonstrating their compliance with E-Verify/SAVE Programs (as these mandates are applicable to this bid).
