Description

The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, permits, means and methods, insurances, etc. at the Charles Hickey School, Building D Riggs Hall. 9700 Old Harford Rd. Parkville Md. 21234 as required for asbestos abatement and the replacement of lead-based painted windows and associated components / surfaces identified in reports dated February 17, 2023 by Lead tec Services, Inc. This is a Small Business Reserve Procurement for which award will be limited to certified small business vendors. Only businesses that meet the statutory requirements set forth in State Finance and Procurement Article, 14-501to14-505, Annotated Code of Maryland, and that are certified by GOSBA Small Business Reserve Program are eligible for award of a contract. For more information regarding the SBR Program at electronically. Small Business Reserve Designation : Yes The work shall be completed within _ 180_ calendar days from the start date of the contract. If the work is not completed within the time period specified, the contractor will be liable for liquated damages of $350.00 per calendar day as specified in the "General Conditions". Bid Bond in the amount of 5% Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% The deadline for questions has been established as June 29, 2023 at 10:00 A.M, to assure that there is enough time to allow the A/E to provide responses and Addendum issuance if necessary. Questions or comments should be submitted to the Procurement officer by the deadline for questions noted in Item #6 of this Notice To Bidders document. All questions must be in writing and addressed to James Alston (james.alston1@maryland.gov.) The deadline for questions has been established as June 29, 2023 at 10:00 A.M, to assure that there is enough time to allow the A/E to provide responses and Addendum issuance if necessary. Please submit all questions to the Procurement Officer: James Alston -james.alston1@maryland.gov and Supervisor Christine Stenhouse - christine.stenhouse1@maryland.gov. The work consists of the removal of existing wooden single-pane windows with any necessary selective removal of sills, returns, finish wall veneer and metal security bars for re-use. Removal of all anchorage frames or dips and subsequent patch, paint, and repair for preparation of window replacement procedures are to be included. Install replacement single hung aluminum(operable) windows as needed in the construction documents. Finalize work by completing all necessary finish wall substrate and veneer repair with finish paint coats. Any exposed exterior framing to be wrapped with white aluminum coil stock and caulked to match. Existing arched windows to be replaced with non-arched windows. Frame and wrap with aluminum as needed. There are approximately 65 windows to be replaced with three transoms and 6 doors. Two doors have small windows on the side with arched transoms above. Two doors have rectangle transom above those 4 doors are to be replaced to include hardware. Two doors are flush hollow metal doors that remain in place.
