Description

5% Bid Bond; Performance and Payment Bonds Liquidated Damages : $500.00 (Five Hundred Dollars per calendar day) . The time of the Completion of Construction of the project is of the essence of the Contract. Should the Bidder neglect, refuse or fail to complete the construction within the time herein agreed upon, after giving effect to extensions of time, if any, herein provided, then, in that event and in view of the difficulty of estimating with exactness damages caused by such delay, the Owner shall have the right to deduct from and retain out of such moneys which may be then due, or which may become due and payable to the Bidder the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00 ) per day for each and every day that such construction is delayed in its completion beyond the specified time, as liquidated damages and not as a penalty if the amount due and to become due from the Owner to the Bidder is insufficient to pay in full any such liquidated damages, the Bidder shall pay to the Owner the amount necessary to effect such payment in full: Provided, however, that the Owner shall promptly notify the Bidder in writing of the manner in which the amount retained, deducted or claimed as liquidated damages was computed. The new 69 - 12.5 kV transformer T2 at Airside is due to arrive in April-May time frame. . At Westfork Substation the new expansion area with all grading and fencing needed will be done by Danville Utilities, probably prior to the start of construction. . Removals and disposals will be totally the responsibility of the contractor. . All materials removed from service shall be disposed of by the contractor. .The pads for the 2 - 69 kV Siemens breakers in the back of Airside are part of this project. .Airside will be de-energized when needed, but the 69 kV transmission loop through the substation will remain energized until near the end of the project. .Work may be performed between 7-5 M-F except holidays. Other hours may be worked with prior approval from Danville Utilities. Working longer hours M-W is also acceptable if coordinated with the DU. .Anchor bolts for new steel structure foundations will be provided by DU. All breaker anchor bolts will need to be provided by the contractor. .On the UG feeders exiting Airside approximate distances: Substation dips to 1 st manhole - 165' 1st manhole to second manhole (existing conduit) - 420'2nd manhole to farthest dip pole - 280'
