Description | Background The City of Pleasanton is seeking proposals from qualified contractors with experience in providing "Pool Maintenance and Repair Services" for the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center, 50-Meter Competition Pool, 25-Meter Racing Pool and Shallow Pool with Water Slide. The City would like to enter into a multi-year Agreement for said services described in Exhibit A Scope of Work and Project Location Maintenance of three swimming pools and pool equipment including but not limited to Mechanical upkeep, operation, circulation, disinfection, water clarity, filters, pool heating systems, pumps, chemical treatment, testing, and ordering, storage, and shipment of cleaning materials. This full-service contract will ensure the pools and associated equipment receive the proper maintenance. The qualified company must ensure proper pool temperatures and cleanliness set by the Support Services Staff. Custodial duties associated with pool mechanical areas are to be part of this contract. Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center at 4455 Black Avenue, Pleasanton, CA 94566: o 50 Meter Competition Pool o 25 Meter Racing Pool o Shallow (Training) Pool with Whitewater Water Slide The selected Contractor will provide the following services (See Exhibit A for more details): 1. Pool Cleaning 2. Chemical Dosing 3. Rounds 4. Underwater Lighting 5. Preventive/Mechanical Maintenance 6. Water Slide Maintenance 7. As-Needed Repair Services Minimum Qualifications The selected contractor shall have maintained commercial poolar a period of not less than five (5) years. The contractor shall have maintained a competition 50-meter pool with the same scope of services as laid out in this document. All staff operating, maintaining or repairing pool equipment shall be CPO (Commercial Pool operator) or AFO (Aquatic Facility Operator) certified at the beginning of the contract. Must have experience with Automated Chemical Control Systems (City currently utilizing BECSys7). Bids Received After Deadline Bids received after the time established for receiving bids will not be considered. Selection Process Staff will review all qualified bid submittals and will select the lowest responsive and responsible contractor based on the submittal criteria that is outlined in this package. Staff will notify selected vendor and recommend their bid proposal to City Council and once approved an Agreement will be executed by both parties. Rejection of Bids The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to determine which bid is, in the City's judgment, the lowest responsive and responsible bid of a Bidder or group of Bidders. The City also reserves the right to waive any inconsequential omissions or discrepancies in any bid and to delete certain items listed in the bid as set forth therein. Costs for developing, submitting, and presenting bids are the sole responsibility of the Bidder and claims for reimbursement will not be accepted by the City. Labor Nondiscrimination The awarded Contractor shall comply with the requirements of the State of California's Standard Specification Code Section 7-1.01A(4) "Labor Nondiscrimination" under this contract. Terms of this Agreement The City is looking to enter into a three (3) year Maintenance and Trade Service Agreement, with the Contractor, with the option to extend this Agreement, by Amendment, for additional two (2), one-year terms, not to exceed five years for the total Agreement. Proposals will be locked-in for three years based on your bid submittals, however if extended by Amendment, the cost of each one-year term may increase only by the change in the consumer price index for the San FranciscoOakland-San Jose Metropolitan Area (all items index; all urban consumers) for the twelve (12). Questions Questions should be directed to the Management Analyst, Daniel Villasenor by email at dvillasenor@cityofpleasantonca.gov Questions will only be answered by reference to a particular section of this bid document. If interpretation is deemed necessary, then the question shall be addressed in writing and a clarification shall be given to all prospective Bidders through addenda. To allow time for issuance of addenda, questions shall only be accepted prior to seven (7) calendar days before the bid opening date. |
