Description

The three lecture halls in the basement level of Carman Hall have had minimal renovation since being built in the late 1960's. The seating is original and has far exceeded its life expectancy. The halls are not ADA complaint or set up for multimedia lectures or presentations. The Carman Hall Lecture Halls: B34, 1,332 SF; B36, 1,332 SF and B39, 1,456 SF each have a seating capacity of 135 students. The project will renovate these facilities and provide new fixed seating with power outlets and oversized retractable tablet arms including all equipment and technology necessary to create a multi-functional multimedia lecture hall with Wi-Fi that supports distance learning and video tele-conferencing capability. Requirements include providing improved lighting, HVAC, acoustics, flooring, ADA accessibility and asbestos abatement. Place of Assembly approval is required.
