Description

We are seeking upgrades for our core switch infrastructure in five schools in the Nashua School District. If your company only supplies one solution, please respond, as we are looking for analysis and reasoning for product, configuration and installation of Cisco core switches to support our network. If a single vendor can support all solutions, meeting our goals, it would be very advantageous for us. The contents of all proposals will be open to inspection by interested parties, either at the time of bid opening or by appointment thereafter. The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to allow the Nashua School District (NSD) to improve network infrastructure. All RFP responses must be submitted by 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 to the Nashua Public Schools Business Office, 141 Ledge Street, Nashua, New Hampshire, 03060. These responses must be in a sealed envelope labeled "Nashua School District Core Switch Network Infrastructure Project", attention Gregory Rodriguez, Director of Technology. If you have a solution to analyze, configure, and install, please include your comments and answer all questions in this RFP. Refer all questions about this RFP in writing to Greg. Refer all questions about this RFP in writing to Gregory Rodriguez, Director of Technology, at rodiguezg@nashua.edu. Nashua, the second largest city in New Hampshire (over 90,000), is located in south-central New Hampshire, bordering Massachusetts. The school department currently has an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students in grades K-12. Nashua has a total of eighteen schools, including two High Schools, 3 Middle Schools, and 13 Elementary Schools, including 2 other facilities housing a small number of students and staff. 1. The contractor will be required to provide comprehensive services to complete the entire process of the network infrastructure upgrade at the sites specified. These services will include planning, equipment acquisition, staging, scheduling, reporting, documentation updates, communication and coordination with other parties involved in the overall project. The selected contractors must be willing to work in a cooperative manner with the NSD staff and other parties working on behalf of NSD. 2. The scope of this project will include the purchase, configuration, and installation of specified Cisco core switches and required equipment. The contractor will be responsible for removing existing equipment, installing new equipment, making all necessary interconnections, and then verifying that the campus network is fully functional. There is existing switch equipment on each campus that will be removed as part of this project. The new core switch and required equipment will be installed in its place and alongside existing switches and controllers. This will be a requirement for all specified locations. 3. NSD will provide detailed instructions for network design, site survey templates, configuration templates, installation procedures, documentation procedures, and coordinate scheduling with the campuses. 4. The contractor will be expected to provide experienced staff with adequate expertise in project management and routing and switching technologies to comply with the implementation standards required by NSD. For further information, please contact Gregory Rodriguez, Director of Technology at 603-966-1029 or by email at rodriguezg@nashua.edu.
