Description | **As of January 26, ,2023, project was awarded to Plant Construction but awarded amount is not available.** Plant Construction seeks plumbing trade contractors with significant experience in coordination and execution of Plumbing projects that are substantial in size and involve challenging logistical conditions and aggressive schedules. The scope of work will be to participate in Design-Assist services and coordinate and execute the complete Plumbing scope at the new Academic Seismic Replacement Building. Trade Contractors must have previous experience large scale plumbing projects totaling approximately $2,750,000 in value on a single project within the past 5 years. Trade contractor must also have previous experience within the City of Berkeley, or within 15 miles of the project area, within the last 5 years. In addition, plumbing trade contractor must also have experience in and be able to facilitate the requirements of LEED. The Trade Contractor will be responsible for the specified work in the following trades: Plumbing. If selected for the plumbing scope; the trade Contractor will be required to comply with all University of California Berkeley requirements. The overall project will provide a new building with general assignment classrooms and offices for the College of Letters and Sciences which are being relocated from Evans Hall. The project site is bounded by Campanile Way and the Valley Life Sciences Building on the north, Grade Street and Dwinelle Hall on the east, Frank Schlessinger Way and the Dwinelle Hall Annex on the south, and Spieker Plaza on the west. The building is comprised of approximately 78,000 SF of new construction. The new building will be five floors. Floors 1-3 will consist of classrooms and exterior circulation while Floors 4-5 will consist of offices for the College of Letters and Sciences. Construction will also include a 400-seat auditorium with a functional rooftop terrace overlooking Strawberry Creek and new paving, site furnishing, and landscaping. Contractors must have a permanent office located within 90 miles of the project location Responses with supporting material are due by 5:00 p.m. December 21, 2022.
