Water Administration Building HVAC Replacement - Bid Package 1

The Work generally consists of replacing the water administration buildings existing air cooled condensing unit, cooling coil in the existing air handling unit, associated refrigerant piping, and electrical components. Contractor shall provide an air-cooled condensing unit with a minimum rating of 70 tons and a maximum rating of 80 tons. The drawings reflect replacing the existing unit with a 70-ton unit (Basis of Design). Any modifications/deviations from the Contract Documents (including but not limited to; pad size, electrical items, piping arrangements, etc.) required to install a condensing unit within the Contract Time (Substantial Completion) shall be at the Contractor's expense The City Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost (including allowance) for the Work is $326,400. Bid security, as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code, in the amount of FIVE percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price Anticipated Start Date: 12/1/2023 Substantial Completion: Completion of the Condensing Unit Installation, Commissioning, and Startup No Later than May 27, 2024 Substantial Completion: Completion of the Condensing Unit Installation, Commissioning, and Startup No Later than May 27, 2024 The City Council of the City of Cedar Rapids reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter such contracts as it deems in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for 45 calendar days after the bids have been received and opened.
