Description | All Work for this Project will occur on JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal at Berths 31, 32, and 33. The Work required includes: (A) Base Bid: Relocate one (1) IHI ship-to-shore container crane (#2253) as shown on the Contract Drawings. (B) Base Bid: Dispose of one (1) Paceco ship-to-shore container crane (#3805) as shown on the Contract Drawings. (C) Owner’s Option 1: Dispose of one (1) Clyde crane (#1405) as shown on the Contract Drawings. 1.01.2 The extent of crane removal includes, but is not limited to: (1) relocation of cranes as necessary, (2) removal of the entire crane structure(s), (3) defueling, recovery, management, and proper disposal of fuel, lubricants and hydraulic fluids, and (4) performing any other work manifestly required to accomplish relocation and disposal of the cranes. 1.01.3 Contractor shall ensure that loads imposed on the wharf structure are within the safe working capacity of the wharf and that the cranes are stable throughout the entire removal and demolition process. Contractor shall not topple or pull over any part of a crane without prior written authorization from JAXPORT. 1.01.4 Contractor shall install 6-ft high temporary chain link fencing andgates around the perimeter of Demo Area 1 prior to beginning any demolition activities. If JAXPORT exercises Owner’s Option 1, then Contractor shall install 6-ft high temporary chain link fencing and gates around the perimeter of Demo Area 2 prior to beginning any demolition activities. 1.01.5 Contractor shall provide (1) all temporary facilities, (2) temporary toilets, (3) locked tool boxes and containers, and (4) temporary utilities. Should Contractor require utility water, it shall coordinate with JAXPORT. 1.01.6 Blasting, explosives or use of any other pyrotechnic device is prohibited in performance of the Work. 1.01.7 Contractor shall obtain a JAXPORT hot work permit from Blount Island Marine Terminal operations prior to any torching, welding or other hot work. 1.01.8 In performing the Work, Contractor shall accommodate and work around vessel schedules. A daily vessel master plat is available from Blount Island Marine Terminal operations. |
