RFP Engineering - Improve US-60

This document constitutes a Request for Proposals for a Professional Service Contract from qualified individuals and organizations to furnish those services as described herein for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Highways. Project Manager - Michael Read, P.E. User Division - Highway Design Approximate Fee - $600,000 Preliminary Engineering & Environmental Services (Lump Sum) Project Funding - STP Funds (Federal Funds) Project Length - Approximately 1.1 miles The purpose of this project is to improve systems connectivity and increase operational efficiency as well as safety along US-60 between Olive Hill and I-64. This will involve improving the typical section and correcting geometric deficiencies to make it more consistent with the previously reconstructed section of the US-60 corridor between the project limits and Olive Hill. The Consultant team shall include a DBE Participation Plan with their Response to Announcement to help the Department meet the 11.95% DBE goal established by FHWA. The plan should demonstrate how DBE companies will be mentored or used to assist in the area(s) pertaining to this contract. An additional page will be allowed in the Project Approach (Section 7) to exhibit this plan. A maximum of four (4) points will be considered in the Evaluation Factors for the DBE Participation Plan. First Selection Meeting: November 7, 2022 Final Selection: November 21, 2022 Pre-Design Conference: November 30, 2022 Consultant Fee Proposal: December 9, 2022 Contract Negotiations: December 21, 2022 Notice to Proceed: January 11, 2023 The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
