Description | As of August 23, 2023, project was awarded to Alpha Environmental Services, Inc. and Flow Line construction LLC but awarded amount is not available. To perform septic repair/replacement or install a lateral sewer connection and decommission the old septic tank for homeowners that reside within 300 feet of an existing sewer line. Washington County Office of Community Development and Clean Water Services have partnered in building a grant program to decommission, repair, replace or upgrade residential septic systems. The program is offered to homeowners in Washington County within the Clean Water Services District, with a preference to assist low/moderate income homeowners. The grant is for eligible homeowners who are on septic systems and reside within Clean Water Service's District. Washington County is soliciting qualified septic and sewer contractors to join our field of contractors. This list of contractors will be provided to homeowners who will request bids for their project. The homeowner will have the right to select their contractor for each specific job. The homeowner may choose to ask County staff for assistance in the process. Grant amounts are from $5,000, up to $25,000. If an estimate is over the grant amount, the homeowner will be responsible for anything over the grant award. Contractors will be paid directly by Clean Water Services for the grant award portion after each project has been completed and all required documents (invoice, permits, etc.) have been submitted. On May 10, 2023 Clean Water Services was awarded a grant from DEQ's Onsite Septic Financial Aid Program.
