On-Call Cathodic Protection Services

Denver International Airport (DEN) is requesting bids for on-call cathodic protection testing services. Cathodic protection is used to prevent corrosion in infrastructure items such as underground pipes or tanks. DEN has cathodically protected sites that require annual inspection. Should any site fail this inspection, the consultant will be asked to advise on repairs. Work will be awarded on an on-call basis by approval of a task order. DEN has several underground utilities and storage tanks and are responsible for them from the point of delivery and/or ownership. These may include but are not limited to natural gas lines, glycol tanks and distribution Lines, domestic water supply, and waste oil or fuel tanks. For each installed cathodic protection device or groups of devices identified by the city on each task order, the selected consultant shall test the device for acceptable performance in accordance with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers code and any other applicable City, State or Federal standard related to that utility or tank. For any test site not in compliance, the selected consultant shall provide recommendations for bringing the item up to compliance. The consultant will also provide a final report for each task detailing all tested sites, test results, recommendations for continued maintenance, and whether the site currently meets any applicable standards, including DEN Standard of Construction 264200. The inspection services covered under this contract are completed annually in the spring of each year so no budget dollars will be expensed in 2022.
