Mt. Carbon Truss Bridge Water Main Relocation

The Project consists of the relocation of an existing 12-inch water main currently attached to the downstream face of the Mount Carbon Bowstring Truss Bridge across the Schuylkill River with a 14-inch HDPE water main immediately upstream of the existing truss bridge. The 14-inch water line will be installed by directional drill under the river. The relocated water main will connect to existing water mains along State Route (S.R.) 2015 and S.R. 61. The Project includes construction of approximately 239 lineal feet of 14-inch HDPE water main by directionally controlled horizontal drilling method, 112 lineal feet of 12 inch, 12 lineal feet of 6 inch, and 14 lineal feet of 8 inch ductile iron pipe water main installed by open cut method, water main appurtenances including gate valves, insertion valves, new and reconnection of water service lines, and incidental work including seeding and paving replacement in state roadways.
