Description

This project is an interior renovation to the Reading Room on the second floor of Sterne Library at University of Alabama at Birmingham. The approximate square foot area is 16,000 SF. Demolition is minimal with removal of study carrels and ceilings in the new rooms within the project area. The renovation will accommodate two classrooms, several group study rooms and a large open office area composed of systems furniture. This open office area will affect neither the ceiling nor the mechanical system. (Furniture is not included in the GC’s contract.) A break room and two water closets is included in the renovation. There is no alteration to the existing structure. Anticipated construction duration is 90 days. This is a city and state permitted job.
