Description | The City of Frisco is looking for responsible bidders for the construction of a concrete drive approach, Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete (HMAC) roadway, and a HMAC parking lot with a concrete valley gutter. The project will include cement stabilization of the subgrade, geogrid placement, flex base placement, HMAC paving, concrete placement, and the installation of all required parking lot pavement markings and signs. The project is located on the south side of Cotton Gin Road approximately 1,245 West of Dallas Parkway. Questions Due Date (By online portal): August 11, 2022 @ 4:00PM CT Intent to Bid Due Date: Aug 11th 2022, 4:00 PM CDT Bids must be accompanied by a cashiers check or certified check upon a national bank, or a bid bond from a reliable surety company in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute a performance bond and a payment bond within (10) days after notice of award of contract to him. A performance bond will be required for all contracts over $100,000.00 and a payment bond will be required for all contracts over $50,000.00 (both payment and performance bonds are to be in the full contract amount). A five percent (5%) BID BOND or CASHIERS CHECK must be submitted with the bid package. Pavement improvements will include: o Initial staking of project layout. o Full depth saw cut and removal of the existing curb and gutter. o Placement of a commercial driveway approach. o Excavation of existing subgrade to a depth of 8. o 8" of cement subgrade stabilization at a rate of 8% (48lbs per SY). o Microcracking of the stabilized subgrade in accordance with TxDOT Item 275 o Cement Treatment (Road Mixed). o Placement of subsidiary geogrid layer. o Placement and compaction of 8 of Type D, Grade I or II flex base material. o Placement of a 8 wide valley gutter at the parking lot entrance. o Placement of 3 compacted Type D HMAC. o Backfilling of pavement edges with topsoil to provide drainage and placement of seeded soil retention blanket. o Placement of all required parking lot markings and signs. Initial Project Staking: The entire project shall be staked by the contractor at no additional pay in accordance with the following requirements: o The proposed roadway from Cotton Gin Road to the parking area shall be staked at the proposed centerline every 100'. o All proposed alignment changes of the roadway will be staked at the beginning and end of the changes o The proposed parking area shall be staked at every corner. o The proposed valley gutter shall be staked at the center line of each end. o All stakes shall be clearly marked showing their location in relationship with the proposed layout. o The OWNER shall have one full business day to evaluate and approve the proposed layout before any further work takes place. Forty (40) calendar days are allotted for the completion of this contract. |
