| Description | This sale is fourth row logger select thinning of 148 acres of 18 year old planted slash pine on Cary State Forest in Duval County, Florida. Timber to be removed includes every fourth row and select trees in the remaining rows in order to reach 60-70 square feet of basal area. Trees to be removed from the selection rows include diseased, damaged, defective, forked, and suppressed trees; followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired basal area. Leave trees should be evenly spaced throughout the sale area. The target basal area per acre can be adjusted by the Forester-In-Charge as needed due to variations in stand and site conditions. Boundary trees marked with a white paint are not to be harvested. |
