Spring Hill, FL 34606 Phase II Question Deadline:January 11, 2023, 5:00pm Phase II Proposal Deadline:February 15, 2023, 3:00pm Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services Station No. 2 located at 3445 Bob Hartung Ct. Spring Hill, FL 34606, has served as a fire and EMS in its current form since 1985. The original station was constructed during the 1970's. The station has received multiple minor renovations over the years, however, due to growth of the community and HCFES the station no longer properly serves as adequate housing for firefighters. The station was originally designed for 2-4 firefighters when constructed. The HCFES Fire Prevention/Training building is located directly to the south of Fire Station No. 2. This building has been in service in its current form since 1985 and has served in many different functions. It is currently serving as the fire prevention and westside training building. HCFES has outgrown this facility and is not cost effective to remodel at this time. HCFES also has a significant need for space on this property for a new fire station with adequate parking. To maintain the current location HCFES will need to demolish the fire station as well as the fire prevention/training building. The proper demolition of both buildings will provide the needed space to place the HCFES Prototype Fire Station on the property while proving adequate space needs for visitor and first responder parking at the new facility. This will be the responsibility of the General Contractor contracted by the county. Prior to demolition, the contractor shall be responsible for obtaining permits and complete the installation of a temporary modular bunkhouse for the fire crews to remain on site for the duration of the project. HCFES is seeking a General Contractor that meets the qualification criteria as set forth in the solicitation document for the construction a new fire station. Step 2 Bid offers shall be accompanied by either a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashiers Check, or Official Bank Check in the dollar amount representing not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid as a guarantee to enter into a contract and furnish a contract performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of notification of the award. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids which are incomplete, unbalanced, conditional, obscure or which contain additions not required, or irregularities of any kind, or which do not comply with every aspect of this Solicitation, may be rejected at the option of the County. A Bidder shall not be qualified to bid when an investigation by the Chief Procurement Officer finds the Bidder delinquent with a previously awarded contact or in litigation with Hernando County on a previously awarded contract.
