Description

Project Locations: 904 North Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792, 851 North Main Street Hendersonville, NC S&ME Project No. 218121 Edifice LLC, Construction Manager, will accept sealed bids for the Hendersonville Fire Station No. 1 and Edwards Park in Hendersonville, NC. The project is a new, 2-story fire station for the City of Hendersonville. Project will be replacing the existing fire station located on the site to accommodate growing needs for the city. Demolition of existing station will be included. Structure consists of load bearing masonry exterior walls with steel beams and decking. Interior walls are metal stud and gypsum. Exterior skin consists of brick veneer and stone veneer along with some precast, EIFS, and FRP elements. Project will include several sustainable components such as permeable pavers, future photovoltaic and rainwater collection systems. The project is located on 851 N. Main St. in Hendersonville, NC. The designer is ADW Architects. The project will also include the new Edwards Park across the street from the new fire station. Project scope for our portion of the park will consist of grading, utilities, paving, demolition, electrical/site lighting, and new concession building. Scopes included with the concession building consist of: building concrete, masonry, stone veneer, precast, glu-lam decorative trusses, casework, air barrier, mechanically seamed metal roofing, fiber cement siding, doors/frames/hardware, coiling counter doors, drywall walls and ceilings, polished concrete floor throughout, tile on bathroom wet walls, interior/exterior painting, toilet partitions & accessories, signage, prefinished metal canopies, plumbing, hvac, and electrical. Bids for informal packages will be accepted via email. No bid security is required for informal packages. 01-001 Final Cleaning, 06-001 Millwork, 08-002 Glass, 09-002 Acoustical Ceilings, 09-003 Hard Tile, 09-004 Flooring, 09-005 Painting, 10-001 Specialties, 10-002 Signage, 10-003 Awnings, 14-001 Elevator, 21-001 Fire Suppression, 27-001 Low Voltage, 31-002 Aggregate Piers, and 32-001 Landscaping. Bidders must be properly licensed under all state laws, regulations, and ordinances governing the respective trades and work to be performed. The General Statutes of the State of North Carolina applicable to license requirements, submission of bids, and award of public contracts shall be observed in the receiving of bids and awarding of contracts for the work. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid of $100,000 or greater. In addition, bid security is required with each trade package bid for any two (or more) trade packages that total $100,000 or greater. The bid security shall be in the form of a bid bond, a cashier's check, or a certified check on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation made payable to Edifice LLC. The apparent low responsible, responsive bidder shall have their bid security held by Edifice until the Trade Contractor agreement is executed, and all required documentation and materials are received and approved by Edifice. All requested documentation and materials must be provided to Edifice by the trade contractor in less than 10 days from acceptance of trade package contract by Edifice. Failure to provide any documentation will be grounds for rejection of the bid. Utilize the AIA Document A310 or similar for the bid bond security form. Bid security will be returned to all bidders in due time after the lowest responsible, responsive trade package contractor is determined and a contract agreement had been executed by all parties. Bonding requirements for the project: The ability to provide Payment and Performance Bonds is required on all subcontracts of $100,000 or greater. In addition, the ability to provide Payment and Performance Bonds is required on any two (or more) trade packages that total $100,000 or more. Regardless of the value of work, building exterior trade packages require the ability to provide Performance and Payment Bonds (i.e., precast, masonry, roofing). Performance and Payment Bonds will be for the full amount of the contract and will be submitted prior to executing the work. This requirement is subject to the judgment and direction of the Owner and Construction Manager. All pre-qualified bidders are required to seek HUB Certified/Minority Business Enterprise participation. All trade package bid proposals must be submitted on the appropriate trade package bid form that pertains to the trade package that is the subject of the bid. Bids shall be made upon the form of proposal provided by Edifice for the applicable trade package. All forms must be filled out completely and accurately with all applicable information. Do not alter, change, or add to the bid forms in any way, shape, or form, this or any added clarifications may result in your bid being withdrawn from consideration. All bids must be signed by an authorized Owner or Officer of the company. Please consult the Bid Manual for all forms. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after receipt of bid. Long lead items will be procured as soon as possible. The CM and Owner reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any and all irregularities or informalities in any bid as allowed by applicable law, and to award any contract to other than low bidder should it be deemed in their best interest.
