Description | The project consists of replacing the 20-inch Check Valve in Building 331. The existing upstream RAS/WAS Transfer Pump and downstream 20-inch knife gate valve will provide sufficient isolation for this valve replacement. In addition, the Contract shall furnish a 12-inch knife gate valve, a 20-inch knife gate valve, a 20-inch x 12-inch reducing elbow, and complete the removal and reinstallation of a 20-inch side outlet elbow for four installations of Return Activated Sludge (RAS) piping from the secondary clarifiers to the RAS/WAS Transfer Pumps in Building 332. These existing knife gate valves do not seal / hold, which will necessitate taking Secondary Clarifiers, the Sludge Well and the RAS/WAS Transfer Pumps out of service for their replacement. All work is located within Structures 331and 332 at the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility (SSWRF). |
