Description | Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center RDC) operated by The Trustees of Princeton University, a US Department of Energy Prime Contractor wishes to notify all interested and capable firms of a potential upcoming solicitation for Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) Services for the construction of the Princeton Plasma Innovation Center (PPIC) at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory located at 100 Stellarator Road, James Forrestal Campus, US Route 1 North, Plainsboro, NJ. PPPL is initiating a project for a multi-use facility including small/medium bay labs, a collaboration center and office space called the Princeton Plasma Innovation Center (PPIC). It will provide both office space and adaptable laboratory space for large-scale high-precision diagnostic and Plasma Facing Component (PFC) research and development. The center will also provide world class computer visualization tools adjacent to remote participation space for real-time access to fusion research machines outside of PPPL. The proposed new building will consist of multiple stories and provide between 77,500 – 107,000 gross square feet (GSF) of multi-purpose facility. The conceptual design target was ~85,000 GSF. This multi-story building will include small and medium bay labs, collaboration space, conference rooms and offices for approximately 190 -233 personnel. The scope of work consists of three phases: Phase 1 (Base Requirement) - The Subcontractor will provide Construction Management (CM) Pre-construction Services in cooperation and collaboration with the PPIC Project Team and the Architect-Engineer Subcontractor. Phase 2 (Option 1) - Site preparation including demolition and site utility installation. Phase 3 (Option 2) - Construction of the PPIC office and laboratory building.
