| Description | Work includes all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, services, and expertise required to accomplish the planting of approximately 450 trees and guarantee for one year. Trees: All trees purchased for the city will be healthy, vigorous and well-grown, showing evidence of proper root and top pruning, single trunked, high branched specimens suitable for use along streets. The root collar will show at the top of the root ball. All trees are to be grown at least one year in a currently active nursery having the same climatic conditions as Westerville. All trees meet ANSI Z60.1 standards for top grade 2" caliper trees - specimen quality (10-12 ft. tall for shade trees, and 8 - 10 ft. tall for ornamental trees or conifers. Each tree should have 8 or more branches with good distribution within the tree's crown), in healthy condition (exhibiting near maximum growth rate for the previous three years), with a minimum 22-24" firm root ball. The MANAGER has final approval of species or variety used and nursery from which trees are obtained. | ||
