Description | As of January 30, 2023, a contractor has not been awarded. The owner plan to issue a solicitation for a contractor by mid March 2023. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This is a sources sought announcement; a market survey for information only to be used for preliminary planning purposes. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential sources for this project including interested small business sources. This notice is for planning purposes only. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this notice or any follow up information requests. All interested parties should respond. The 145th Airlift Wing intends to issue a solicitation and award a firm-fixed price contract to repair and renovate an aircraft maintenance hangar subject to the availability of funds. This project includes but is not limited to: Replace existing Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) system (overhead sprinklers, underwing cannons, foam tanks, and control system) with High Expansion Foam (HEF) system and upgrade pumps and water storage. Replace infrared heaters in hangar, boiler and boiler system, and HVAC systems throughout administrative area with energy efficient systems and improved controls. Installation of a de-stratification system in the hangar area. Upgrade fall protection, overhead crane, and electrical and pneumatic connections for equipment and maintenance stands. Replace roofing systems with 30 year EPDM and standing seam metal roofing systems and improve natural lighting. Upgrade electrical systems to current safety requirements and replace existing lighting with energy efficient lighting and controls. Repair hangar interiors, including paint walls, structure and equipment, repair floor joints and epoxy seal floors. Repair/upgrade restrooms to include surfaces and fixtures with water efficient systems. Repair/upgrade administration and shop area finishes through patching and painting surfaces. Replace ceiling tiles, floor finishes, and altering selective areas to improve operations. Repair exterior split face masonry, point joints, and weather seal. Repair hangar doors and door seals. Replace overhead doors with insulated sectional and roll up doors. Construct maintenance shops in tug alleyway. The magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. All interested concerns will provide this office, in writing, the following information no later than Friday 3 December 2021, 5:00 pm EST. This information shall not exceed five (5) typed pages and must include the following: (1) Positive statement of intent to bid as a prime contractor; (2) Completed and signed Source Sought Information Request Form; (3) Listing of projects with similar scope completed during the past five years, either for government or private industry. The type of project, dollar value, contract number, location, and point of contact are to be included. Indicate if you were prime or subcontractor, and if subcontractor, provide the name and point of contact for the prime contractor; and (4) Brief outline of resources, subcontractors, and key personnel that would be used to accomplish the contract. In the event a sufficient number of small business contractors are not available for adequate competition for this project, it may be advertised as unrestricted. When posted, the synopsis/pre-solicitation notice and resulting solicitation number will be W50S87-22-B-5001.
