Description

August 1, 2022 Recommendation and Council Approval September 30, 2022 Deadline For Removal of Structures All work is required to be performed in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Law of Missouri and the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sedalia. The work consists of the demolition at 701 S. Lafayette, 521 W. 5 th & 524 W. 3rd; and all incidental and/or related work as necessary to provide a complete project including the removal of all trees and vegetation on the lot. Prevailing wage rates are applicable; have been predetermined as required by State Law and are detailed in the Bid Package Documents. The applicable wage order is attached as part of the project specifications. Excessive Unemployment Law: The Contractor hereby agrees to comply with the provisions of Section 290.550, et seq., of the Revised Statutes of Missouri (hereinafter the "Excessive Unemployment Law" and incorporated herein by reference), when there is "a period of excessive unemployment" (as that term is defined under the Excessive Unemployment Law). This requirement includes, without limitation, the obligation to use only "Missouri laborers" and "laborers from nonrestrictive states" (as those terms are defined under the Excessive Unemployment Law) in constructing or building any public works project or improvement, except as may otherwise be allowed under the Excessive Unemployment Law. Compliance is required with 285.530 RSMo in relation to employment of unauthorized aliens to perform work within the state of Missouri and the requirement for participation in a federal work authorization program. A bidder's bond for the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid made payable to the City of Sedalia must accompany each proposal. A personal check in the amount of the bid can be written in lieu of the bid bond. Bidders are informed the project is subject to the requirements of Section 292.675, RSMo, which requires all contractors or subcontractors doing work on the project to provide, and require its on-site employees to complete, a ten (10) hour course in construction safety and health approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or a similar program approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations which is at least as stringent as an approved OSHA program. The training must be completed within sixty (60) days of the date work on the project commences. On-site employees found on the worksite without documentation of the required training shall have twenty (20) days to produce such documentation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularities in the bids. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after date of bid opening. The City of Sedalia in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
