Sewer Main Installation on North Cherry Street

Install new 6” sewer main along the 400 block of North Cherry Street, a distance of 160 LF. The project begins at the rear of 127 West Horner Street where a new section of 6” SDR has already been installed. The contractor will locate the end of that 6” SDR pipe (4 feet deep), install a new wye connection to maintain service to 127 West Horner Street, and then extend that 6” pipe north in Cherry Street a distance of 160 LF. A new manhole is to be placed at the intersection of Alton and Cherry, estimated depth to invert is 9 feet. The manhole is to intersect the existing 6” terra cotta main serving Holy Name Church and direct flow to Horner St. Connection to existing main to be done with reinforced Fernco unless pipe can be connected directly to new manhole. When the manhole is placed the old main is to be cemented shut. Contractor will locate the existing lateral from 128 Alton St. and connect to new main at the property line with an observation port. After connection is made the old lateral is to be capped at the rear of 127 Horner St. Contractor will verify depth and location of existing main from Church prior to beginning construction.
