Description The contractor shall provide all personnel, tools, equipment, materials and supervision for the work required to care for all the grounds within the boundaries of this Weather Forecast Office (WFO) as described in this statement of work, and in accordance with (IAW) all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. Period of performance for this service contract is from the first day of April through the last day of March each year. Note: The grounds at the National Weather Service office at Gaylord, Michigan are in two parts: (1) the lawns and landscaping which shall be maintained on a weekly basis (approximately 2.025 acres); and (2) the areas that are "hash marked" on the enclosed print shall require intermittent bush-hogging only (approximately 1.737 acres). (See "Additional requirements" line item #5). The contractor shall - 1. Weekly mowing shall begin around the first week of April and end in September based on when the grass season begins and ends. The contractor shall contact the Administrative Support Assistant (ASA) or the Meteorologist in Charge (MIC) who shall determine when the season starts and ends for services required. 2. Trim with a string trimmer around buildings, driveway, sidewalks, equipment, and other stationary objects. Care shall be exercised to prevent damage to existing trees, shrubs, bushes and other obstructions. 3. Use a broom or blower to remove clippings from the parking areas and sidewalks. 4. Clippings shall be left on the lawn as long as no readily visible clumps remain on the grass surface 24 hours after mowing. Otherwise, clippings shall be collected and removed by the contractor from the site using approved methods which follow all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. 5. Mowing shall be with a reel/rotary or mulching mower. Mowing height shall be no longer than three (3) inches in accordance with grass type and variety. 6. Mow all grass areas within 10 feet of all driveways, fences, sidewalks, equipment, buildings and stationary equipment. Care shall be exercised to prevent damage to trees, shrubs, bushes and other obstructions. 7. Clean all clippings from sidewalks, curbs and roadways immediately after each mowing or trimming.
