Construction Management and Inspection Services for the Construction of Route 44 Truck By-Pass in the Townhip of Greenwich In Gloucester County

The chosen consultant will provide construction inspection /construction management for the below described construction contract. The proposed project will provide for the construction of a new 0.60-mile truck bypass roadway that ties into existing Route 44 in western Gibbstown. The proposed roadway would run primarily through undeveloped DuPont property along the periphery of extensive forested wetlands adjacent to an active railroad line and existing Route 44. The southwestern terminus of the proposed roadway includes a new intersection with Route 44 just east of the existing bridge over Sand Ditch (aka Nehonsey Brook). The northeastern terminus includes a new intersection with A Line Road approximately 1,200 feet north of its intersection with Repauno Avenue. The proposed roadway includes one 12-foot lane and one 10-foot shoulder in each direction, for a total pavement width of 44 feet. Where the northbound and southbound roadways (ramps) are on separate alignments, the typical section includes a 20-foot wide lane and 2-foot inside and outside shoulders, for a total pavement width of 24 feet. The roadway pavement box will be primarily contained within steel sheet pile retaining walls to limit the lateral extent of filling.
