Description | The Town of Freedom will receive bids for 2023 Asphalt Paving. The work for which Bids are requested includes: Proposal 1: Hot Mixed Asphalt (HMA) wedging and patching of approximately 600 tons on various portions of Township roads including Camp Rd, Schmidt Rd, Freedom Rd and other locations to be determined by the Town. Bids shall be based on wedging profile distortion and/or overlaying deteriorated pavement utilizing 5 LT 58-28 S Asphalt Mix. Proposal 1 shall provide a unit price per ton including sweeping and tack coat on existing surfaces in wedge areas. Bids shall include the minimum quantity threshold for the unit price given and include a proposed date range for completion of the work. Proposal 2: The work for which bids are asked includes fine grading and paving a 2.5-inch thick X 22-foot wide mat of 4 LT 58-28 S asphaltic concrete pavement on approximately 0.5 miles of Town constructed base. Work is on Freedom Road beginning 1/2 mile north of the intersection of Retgen Rd and extending north 1/2 mile. Bids shall be based on completion of the paving by October 13, 2023. Shouldering and incidental work necessary to complete the project will be performed by the Town. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. A portion of this work is funded by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP). Interested bidders may submit bids for Proposals 1 and 2 separately or in combination. No bid proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a current certificate of insurance. The Town reserves the right to reduce the total scope of work as needed to fit the available budget. Materials and workmanship shall be supplied and performed in accordance with the latest edition of the State of Wisconsin Standard Specifications for Highway & Bridge Construction.
