Description | Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project, FY-2019 TCDP Grant Project No. 7220431 generally described as the rehabilitation of approximately 2,959 feet of 8", 10" and 21" sanitary sewer lines by pipe bursting, replacement of manholes and sanitary sewer service connections. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Silsbee, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. The City of Silsbee, Texas reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding Scope: This contract shall provide for the rehabilitation of approximately 925 linear feet of existing 8" sanitary sewer line, 1,365 linear feet of existing 10" sanitary sewer line, 9 existing sanitary sewer manholes to be removed and replaced, and restore approximately 21 service connections to the new lines. Alternate bid items are also included for the rehabilitation of approximately 710 linear feet of existing 8" sanitary sewer line by pipe bursting, approximately 309 linear feet of existing 22" sanitary sewer line by pipe bursting, 2 existing sanitary sewer manholesto be removed and replaced, 2 existing sanitary sewer cleanouts to be removed and replaced with a shallow sanitary sewer manhole and restoration of approximately 9 service connections to the new lines. This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, materials, equipment, tools, piping, field jointing, cleaning, grouting, excavation, trenching, shoring, fill, grading, backfill, surface restoration, testing, hauling and disposal of excess soils to an owner approved site, and incidental items necessary for the construction of the proposed facilities as shown in the plans and documented in the specifications. The Contractor is responsible for the restoration of all disturbed surfaces, including pavement. All surfaces shall be returned to original condition or better. In general, all restoration shall be completed before beginning work on the next segment of line, according to the plans and specifications. Prior to the start of construction, the Contractor shall submit a construction schedule to the engineer detailing his anticipated activities with estimated datesfor the completion of each activity and section. The Contractor shall be responsible for the testing of each system embraced in this Contract. All systems shall be demonstrated to be functioning at design conditions prior to being considered complete. Where requested or required by the Engineer, the Contractor shall submit test data and certify in writing that the systems tested performed as required by the plans and specifications at design conditions. Summary: 1. Mobilization 2. Rehabilitate approximately 925 LF of existing 8" sanitary sewer line with an 8.625" O.D. (7.55" I.D.) DR 17 HDPE liner pipe by the pipe-bursting method of construction. 3. Rehabilitate approximately 1,365 LF of existing 10" sanitary sewer line with a 10.750" O.D. (9.41" I.D.) DR 17 HDPE liner pipe by the pipe-bursting method of construction. 4. Remove and replace 9 existing sanitary sewer manholes less than 8' deep w/ concrete manholes. 5. Restore approximately 21 sanitary sewer service lines on rehabilitated sewer line. 6. Provide Trench Safety Plan. 7. Provide linear trench protection. 8. Provide shoring type trench protection. |
