Description | In general, the work consists of removal of all of the bedface limestone on the 1st through 4th floors of the building and on the sloped roof above the 4th floor. Some additional cut stone will be removed and replaced. The stone will be replaced with new bedface limestone and new cut stone. In general, the work consists of removal of all of the bedface limestone on the 1 st through 4th 49 floors of the building andon the sloped roof above the 4 th 50 floor. Some additional cut stone will be removed and replaced. The stone will be replace with new bedface limestone and new cut stone. At the walls of the building, where stone has been removed, existing insulation will be removed and replaced with new insulation. At those same locations, a new vapor permeable air barrier will be installed. Roofing and insulation under the stone on the sloped roof will be removed and replaced with new rigid insulation, protection board, self adhering waterproofing and drainage mat. Existing copper gutters will be removed areplaced in-kind with new copper gutters. Skylights on the sloped roof and at the flat roof at the top of the building will be removed and replaced with new skylights. At a section of the sloped roof above the sloped skylights, existing flat-seamed, soldered copper roof and its substrate will be removed and replaced with new flat-seamed copper roof and new substrate materials. Sealants at the perimeter of windows and doors on the first two floors of the building will be replaced with new sealants. As of May 15, 2023, the awarded general contractor is looking for speciality demolition contractors for the removal of the skylight systems. Estimated construction start date is Early 2024. |
