Description | The project entails the complete replacement of existing mechanical equipment, appurtenances and associated items in the sub-basement of the NCC Tower building with new mechanical equipment; and the replacement of existing perimeter fan coil units, appurtenances and associated items located on floors 2 through 12 with new perimeter fan coil units as specified in the Contract Documents. The Tower building is the College's Administrative building which requires upgrades to its mechanical systems, with the goal of modernizing existing, aging systems. Principal work shall include all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP); Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC); Finishes & Equipment; ACM Removal; and all associated work. Instructions to Bidders, Form of Bid Bond, Proposal, Form of Agreement, Specifications and the Plans, herein called. A PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT, negotiated between Nassau Community College and the Construction Trades Council of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, will be attached in a future addendum. Security for Bid and List of Subcontractors as set forth herein must be presented with the Bid. Failure to provide the required security will render the bidder nonresponsive and the bid will not be accepted, opened or read aloud. All bidders will be held to have accepted all terms and conditions of the bid and Contract Documents, to have examined the site and conditions that may affect the work and to have fully informed themselves of all requirements they will be held responsible to perform. No claim for relief of mistakes in the bid will be entertained after bid response. The walk-through shall then proceed to view typical fan coil units on the 11th Floor of the Tower and subsequently to the basement level to view existing mechanical equipment. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. This Contract will be subject to Nassau County Local Law No. 9-2002, which requires that firms entering into contracts must participate in registered and approved apprenticeship training programs. At the time of bid submission, the Contractor and its proposed Subcontractors shall submit as part of its bid an affidavit of participation in approved apprenticeship training programs that are appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under the Agreement. The apprenticeship training programs shall be registered with, and approved by, the New York State Commissioner of Labor in accordance with Article 23 of the New York State Labor Law. Note that if the Contractor does not comply with these requirements, the College may declare the Contractor's bid proposal nonresponsive and award the Contract to the next lowest responsible Bidder. |
