Trumbull Avenue Waterline Replacement

As of August 11, 2022, project was awarded to J. S. Bova, awarded amount is $864,862.29. The work for this project is located along Trumbull Avenue between South State Street (US 422) and the SR 711 Connector and also along North Davis Street from Trumbull Avenue to Iowa Avenue. The work to be performed as part of this Contract generally consists of installing approximately 4,750 LF of 6" and 8" waterlines and all appurtenances. Domestic Steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.001 of the Revised Code apply to this project. Copies of Section 153.001 of the Revised Code can be obtained from any of the offices of the Department of Administrative Services. The successful bidder shall be certified with the Ohio Department of Transportation to construct such improvements. Each bidder shall be required to complete and file with his bid the enclosed Proposal Guaranty and Performance/Payment Bond Form (Section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code) with a Surety Company executing the Bond, which is listed on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and authorized to transact business in the State where the project is based. If the bid is accepted, the successful bidder shall enter into a contract and the Proposal Guaranty and Performance/Payment Bond shall provide the conditions in said bond, and as listed below: (A) A Contract Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the estimated cost of the work conditioned, among other things that the Contractor will perform the work upon the terms proposed, within the time prescribed, in accordance with the plans and specifications. (B) A Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the estimated cost of the work conditioned for the payment by the Contractor and all Sub-contractors for labor performed and materials furnished in connection with the project involved. The City of Girard reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in bidding. Bids of Corporations not chartered in Ohio must be accompanied by proper certification that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Trumbull County and the City of Girard, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations. The successful low bidder will be required to comply with all Contract Requirements for Equal Employment Opportunities. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days. Engineer's Construction Cost Estimate: $761,915.00
