Description | This project involves the replacement of existing ventilation system located in the penthouse mechanical room of Building 951 located at 809 S Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60612 with a new ventilation system. The existing ventilation system comprises of (2) supply air units, (2) kitchen exhaust fans, (2) toilet exhaust fans, and an associated heat recovery system. We’ll be replacing the existing ventilation system with (1) supply air unit, (1) kitchen exhaust fan, (1) toilet exhaust fan and a heat pipe energy recovery system. The supply air provides corridor make-up for the north and south tower while the exhaust fans serve 251 resident units in both the towers. The scope of the project involves replacement of all the existing mechanical piping risers in the penthouse mechanical room with new and relocation of some of the other existing utilities in the mechanical room to accommodate the new work. The penthouse mechanical room floor is not structurally suitable to house the new ventilation system and for this reason, we’ll be mounting all the new equipment on a structural beam tied to the columns of this building. Refer to the structural drawings for the nature of the scope. This project also involves the replacement of existing change over valves, as well as other valves associated with the two-pipe system in the lower-level mechanical room with new valves as indicated on the mechanical drawings. The following certification is applicable for contractors and subcontractors only. Pursuant to the Prevailing Wage Act, Vendor shall pay a wage of no less than the general prevailing hourly rate as paid for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, to all laborers, workers and mechanics, pursuant to definitions, guidelines and procedures set forth in 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. seq. (2010). The vendor shall submit monthly to Owner a certified copy of the records required under section 130/5(a)(1) of the Act. The certified payroll shall include records of all laborers, mechanics, and other workers employed by the vendor, including assigned subcontractors, for services performed. The records shall include each worker’s name, address, telephone number when available, social security number, classification or classifications, hourly wages paid in each pay period, number of hours worked each day, and the starting and ending times of each work day. The certified payroll shall be accompanied by a statement signed by the vendor and statements signed by each subcontractor where appropriate which aver that: (1) such records are true and accurate, (2) the hourly rate paid to each worker is not less than the general prevailing rate of hourly wages required under the Act; and (3) the vendor acknowledges that filing a certified payroll that he or she knows to be false is a Class B misdemeanor. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated. Alternates, if considered, will be accepted in any order as determined by the Owner. |
