Jefferson County Alabama Mechanical Equipment Asset Program Fy20

The project will be constructed at two separate JeffCo facilities, the Bessemer Courthouse Annex, and the JeffCo Birmingham Public Safety Center. Work at the Bessemer Courthouse Annex, located at 1801, 3rd Ave North, Bessemer, AL shall include the complete replacement of two roof mounted, 250 ton cooling towers. The existing structural steel shall be modified and re-used; the condenser water supply and return piping shall be replaced within ten feet of the tower and will include manual automatic isolation valve. The new cooling tower controls shall be integrated with the existing facility direct digital control system, and all associated sensors and controllers shall be replaced. Work at the JeffCo Birmingham Public Safety Center, located at 2120 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Boulevard in Birmingham, AL shall include the complete replacement of two indoor 125 boiler horsepower heating hot water boilers. The hot water supply and return piping shall be modified to accommodate the new boiler installation and all automatic valves, and manual isolation valves shall be replaced. The new boiler controls shall be integrated with the existing facility direct digital control system and all associated sensors and controllers shall be replaced.
