Description | All Bid envelopes must be sealed and marked with "CITY OF DEER LODGE COTTONWOOD ROAD REBUILD" or the Bid will not be accepted. Description of the Work: The project consists of 1,900 CY excavation and haul off, 2,086 SY of 4-inches asphalt, 3 slotted manholes, 380 CY 6-inch cobbles (French drain), 130 LF modified curb and gutter, 288 LF double gutter, and 587 SF of 6-inch concrete. An electronic version is also available. CONTRACTOR and any of the CONTRACTOR'S subcontractors doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling (406) 444-7734. CONTRACTORS are not required to have registered with the DLI prior to bidding on this project but must have registered prior to execution of the Construction Agreement. All laborers and mechanics employed by CONTRACTOR or any subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid as described in the WAGE RATE SECTION and as required by the state of Montana. The CONTRACTOR must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. . QUESTIONS may be submitted in writing to Kurt Thomson, kthomson@ seaeng.com, prior to February 27th, 2023. Questions received after February 27th, 2023 may not receive a response. Acknowledgement of Bidders satisfaction as to the general, local, and Site conditions that may affect cost, progress, and performance of the Work is a condition of bidding on the work. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. The contract provides for sixty (60) calendar days for completion of the work. The contractor will be assessed liquidated damages in the amount of $1500 per calendar day for time required beyond that provided. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids, Owner reserves the right to cancel or terminate this Bid, reject any one or all proposals received in response to this Bid, to waive informalities, and not award or if awarded, terminate any contract on the grounds of a determination by Owner that adequate budgeted funds to expend on a resulting contract were not available to Owner. The Owner reserves the right to postpone the award of the contract for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid which is in the best interest of the OWNER. |
