Description | For work associated with the furnishing of all supervision, technical personnel, labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, incidentals, and services, including utility and transportation services, and the performance and completion of all work required for the rehabilitation of existing airfield pavement located between Taxiways A3 and northward to a line even with the north side of the airport`s large Maintenance Hangar (located southwest of the entrance to the airfield at the terminal`s security gate). This aforementioned is the Base Bid area for this project. An adjacent area (Add Alternate #1) will also be included in the bid process; it extends from the north end of the Base Bid area to the security gate, and westward along the Fuel Farm Taxiway to an area rehabilitated in 2017. However, work in this additive area will be awarded ONLY if funds are made available for the work. All work, regardless of area, will consist of the following: (1) cold milling/planning of existing asphalt pavement; (2) removal of raised pavement joints, resulting from pavement movement over the many decades that have passed since the original concrete pavement was constructed; (3) the cleaning, filling, and sealing of existing joints found within the limits of the concrete pavement found in the project area; (4) the removal and replacement of broken pavement, expected to be found in isolated areas of the existing pavement that is being rehabilitated; (5) the leveling of sunken areas of concrete pavement with hot mix asphalt pavement; (6) the application of an asphalt and stone surface treatment atop the prepared concrete pavement surfaces; (7) the application of a 2-inch hot mix asphalt overlay atop the surface treatment; and (8) the remarking/restriping of the pavement surface. |
